Member, Human Rights Tribunal

Held 2003 to 2008 term as member of Human Rights Tribunal responsible for mediation and adjudication of complaints of discrimination by individuals or classes of persons under the provisions of the Human Rights Code. Conducted settlement or early settlement meetings with a view to resolving complaints prior to hearing.  Proven expertise with rules of natural justice to the proceedings, arriving at the matter at hand and providing a written decision.

Worked with parties to a complaint both represented by legal counsel or an agent.  Mediation ensured the rights of both parties were recognized and not compromised.

Vice Chair, Labour Relations Board

Held 1994 to 2003 term adjudicating matters under the Labour Relations Code.  Specific expertise with complex issues under the Health Authorities Act and the Health and Social Services Delivery Improvement Act.

Strategic Planning  

Directed Strategic Planning including strategies to accomplish organizational mergers. Worked with Board of Directors; Constitution and Bylaws and a broad range of Human Resource issues.

Labour Relations

Managed and provided labour relations consulting services and negotiations of collective agreements.
